PERTH AMBOY -- Raritan Bay Medical Center is sponsoring a Bariatric Weight Loss Support Group meeting Thursday June 17, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the hospital’s Perth Amboy location, 530 New Brunswick Ave. For those who have had weight loss surgery, contemplating weight loss surgery or just trying to maintain a healthy weight, facilitator Lauretta Thompson, RN, MSN, CRNI, will lead discussions on the concerns surrounding weight loss surgery as well as its successes. WOODBRIDGE -- Raritan Bay Medical Center is sponsoring a Breast Cancer Support Survivor Network Tuesday, June 22, 6 to 7 p.m., at the Medical Pavilion at Woodbridge, 740 Route 1 North, Iselin. The support group is for men and women currently in treatment or have completed breast cancer treatment, to share experiences and learn tips to deal with everyday issues. Program group leader Beth Rothman, MSPT, M.Ed., CLT, has over 25 years experience as a physical therapist, is a certified lymphedema therapist that specializes in breast cancer rehabilitation and has undergone treatment for breast cancer. PERTH AMBOY -- Raritan Bay Medical Center is sponsoring a one day Childbirth Education / Lamaze Class Saturday, June 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The class is designed to help future parents better understand the childbearing process. A registered nurse with special training in labor, delivery and childcare techniques will facilitate the class. It will be held in Centennial Hall, 530 New Brunswick Ave., Perth Amboy.
