Residents Can Pick-Up FREE Leaf Bags

Mayor John E. McCormac today announced that FREE bio-degradable leaf bags are now available for resident pick-up at convenient locations throughout the Township.

With more than 500,000 leaf bags in stock, the Woodbridge Township Department of Public Works and the Recycling Division are ready for the 2009 Fall leaf collection program.

The bio-degradable paper leaf bags are designated for “Leaves Only” and are to be used only while the leaf collection program is in effect (through December, 2009.) Plastic trash bags containing leaves are NOT accepted and will NOT be picked-up. Residents are reminded to place bagged leaves at curbside for pick-up.

Free bags will be distributed starting October 1 at the following locations:

Week Nights 5:00 P.M. ~ 8:00 P.M.

October 6 & 20 Woodbridge Community Center

October 7 & 21 Evergreen Center

October 8 & 22 JFK High School

October 9 & 23 Avenel Park

Saturday 9:00 A.M. ~ 1:00 P.M.

October 3 ~ Farmer’s Market at Town Hall

October 10 ~ Farmer’s Market at Town Hall

October 17 ~ Farmer’s Market at Town Hall

October 24 ~ Farmer’s Market at Town Hall

Woodbridge Community Center

Hopelawn Fire Department

October 31 ~ Farmer’s Market at Town Hall

Free bags may also be obtained at the Public Works Complex & Recycling Center located on Smith Street in Keasbey.
