Mayor John E. McCormac today announced that the official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Arenas at Woodbridge is set for Friday, June 18 at noon at the Woodbridge Community Center.
Located at 600 Main Street, the Arenas at Woodbridge is the first regional full-scale, multi-purpose venue boasting entertainment and recreational programs for the entire family. The new site also offers themed events and membership reward incentives at the ice and roller skating rinks, expanded sport and recreational facilities geared for all ages and the opening of the all-new “Arenas Café” with healthy menu selections. The Arenas at Woodbridge - located inside the Woodbridge Community Center on Main Street – represents more than just an ice and roller skating rink, it’s an opportunity for the Township to cut costs and increase revenue by installing a new management team with the goal of designing and offering exciting and new family entertainment opportunities, events and programs.
In the coming months, The Arenas at Woodbridge and the Community Center will move forward to become a full-scale recreational and entertainment venue serving children, teens, young adults, families and senior residents through special offers and programs designed to maximize the ice and roller skating centers; through an expanded food service and event catering facility; and by installing new recreational and entertainment programs geared to the entire community.
Additionally, through management of The Arenas at Woodbridge, it is anticipated that the Township will pocket more than $300,000 in management fees paid to the former management company that operated the rinks and concession facility. The Arenas at Woodbridge will generate more than $200,000 annually in profit from rink fees and concession sales. 
The Township will also continue to partner with the YMCA. Township management of the ice and roller skating facilities and the new Arenas Café will not impact or affect the services, programs, physical fitness and wellness events and related operations offered by the Woodbridge Branch of the YMCA.
