Woodbridge honors hometown hero with "Richie Sambora Way"

E-mail Print

Woodbridge welcomed home Bon Jovi's lead guitarist, Richie Sambora, in style, as officials named a street in his honor.

The honor was prompted by Sambora's efforts to raise money for Township teen Kelly Mahon, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago.

Sambora, 50, is raising money through a fundraising effort called,"You Can Go Home." The rocker also paid for a new weight room at his alma mater,Woodbridge High School.

It's being named in honor of Sambora's father, Adam, who died of cancer in 2007. The street leading to Woodbridge High, off Route 35, is now Richie Sambora Way.
