E-mail Print

sustainablewoodbridgeThe Greenable Woodbridge Museum of the Future - featuring exciting environmental, sustainable, and green events for all ages - opened on Saturday, June 12 to a rousing reception from state, county and local officials, business and corporate-sponsors, environmental organizations, and educational and community groups.

The Greenable Woodbridge Museum of the Future is prominently located in the Woodbridge Center Mall in the JCPenney Wing, upper level.

The museum features interactive displays and events, green business counseling and educational programs involving sustainable energy, transportation, manufacturing, and community living. The exhibits, programs and events are geared to both the residential and business community and are designed to engage communities large and small on the benefits of “going green” and employing sustainable practices that serve to preserve and protect the Woodbridge environment.

The museum also houses exhibits appealing to all ages and backgrounds and serves as an educational and training center to educate visitors on current and future green practices in business and everyday life. It is also host to various events and programs relating to sustainability and will serve as the initial home of the Woodbridge Green Technology Incubator (to be located at the Pennval Road Redevelopment Park) which will jump-start the development of green businesses and technology in Woodbridge Township.

The Greenable Woodbridge Museum of the Future results from a joint public-private partnership. Corporate and community sponsors include Bayshore Recycling, HSBC, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Citibank and Woodbridge Center Mall. Exhibitors include the Rainforest Alliance, Cloud Institute for Sustainable Education, Middlesex Water Company, Middlesex County VoTech, Woodbridge Schools, Bayshore Recycling, Borders Books and the Woodbridge Artisans Guild.

The museum continues to rely on volunteers and interns to manage and staff the Museum and to assist in day-to-day operations. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering phones, answering questions and educating visitors about exhibits, helping take down and put up changing exhibits, coordinating special events and assisting in other general museum needs.

Volunteers will have an opportunity to work with sustainability experts and innovators in a wide range of fields. Inquiries can be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
