And the Woodbridge Idol 2009 is… Caitlin Meehan

On Saturday, March 14, the Woodbridge Community Center hosted the Third-Annual Woodbridge Idol contest, sponsored by Dillon Music of Woodbridge. After four rounds of auditions and the semi-final round, a dozen Woodbridge Township teens were selected to move to the final round.

After performing before an audience of more than 250 cheering fans and a panel of judges, the “Final Four” were selected – Kiersten Morgan, Morissa Schwartz, Tyree Snell and Caitlin Meehan.

WOODBRIDGE, NJ – “Community & Summertime” are the twin themes of Woodbridge Artisan Guild’s autumn exhibit opening Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at the Woodbridge Artisan Guild, 353 Fulton Street, Woodbridge.

Artists on exhibit include Constance Elek (ceramics), Paul Moran (pastels), Glenn Murgacz (metal sculpture), Michele Mastrangelo, Jim Sullivan, Phyllis Wilkinson and Lois Nagy-Hartnack (paintings) Rose Sullivan, Michael Tucci, Maggie D’Angelo and Roger Jacobs (photography).

Ride the Trolley Trek to Woodbridge historical sites

Woodbridge – The Trolley Trek – sponsored by the Middlesex County Cultural & Heritage Commission - will visit Woodbridge on Sat., Sept. 12, 2009.

The Trolley Trek will explore Woodbridge historical sites from the 1600s through the 1800s, including the Parker Press Building, the Barron Library, the First Presbyterian Church of Woodbridge, the Trinity Episcopal Church, and the Dunham House and Mill site.

The history of Woodbridge during the 20th century will also be examined including relics from the Township's industrial past and the scene of one of the worst train wrecks in modern American history.

Woodbridge honors hometown hero with

Woodbridge welcomed home Bon Jovi's lead guitarist, Richie Sambora, in style, as officials named a street in his honor.

The honor was prompted by Sambora's efforts to raise money for Township teen Kelly Mahon, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago.

Woodbridge to Honor Memory of 9/11 Victims at Interfaith Memorial Service

Woodbridge Township, the Woodbridge Interfaith Clergy Council in concert with the First Presbyterian Church of Iselin, and the Woodbridge Township Veterans Alliance, will conduct an Interfaith Memorial Service to commemorate the 8th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the heroic actions of the citizens aboard United Airlines Flight 93.
